Jasvinder Singh Appointed Strategic Projects Director at HSL

Commodore Jasvinder Singh has assumed charge as Director (Strategic Projects) at Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), marking a significant addition to the leadership of the premier shipbuilding and repair yard.

A veteran of the Indian Navy, Commodore Singh brings with him over 30 years of distinguished service marked by extensive operational and technical expertise.

He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University, an M.E. in Marine Engineering from University of Pune, and an M.Phil. in Defence and Strategic Studies from University of Mumbai. In addition, he has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, equipping him with strong managerial and strategic planning skills.

During his tenure in the Navy, Commodore Singh held several key appointments across submarines, frontline warships, and tri-service establishments, gaining hands-on experience in complex maritime operations.

He has been closely associated with marine engineering functions, fleet maintenance, and lifecycle management of naval assets. Notably, he has also worked in coordination with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on strategic projects, contributing to the design, construction, and integration of advanced naval platforms.

At HSL, he is expected to play a pivotal role in steering high-priority national programmes, particularly those related to submarine construction and other critical defence initiatives. Officials indicated that his vast experience in handling technologically intensive and strategically sensitive projects would add momentum to the shipyard’s ongoing and upcoming assignments.
